Box 1 contains biographical sketches, personal expense ledgers (1913-1919), Tuolumne county, Calif. school photos and memorabilia (1911-1915) and 19th century photos of Sonora, Calif. and its environs. Box 2 contains information about the Stuart Gibbons Trophy awarded annually to the most promising graduate of Sonora High School (1928-1975) and other material on Sonora schools. Box 3 contains information about Gibbons' Stockton, Calif. insurance business, his involvement with conservative Republican politics and his organizational affiliations. Box 4 contains papers pertaining to Gibbons' involvement with the California Commission on Aging (1973), the Citizens' Housing Committee, the Stockton City Planning Commission (1960s), the Cultural Heritage Board (1960s), the San Joaquin County Bicentennial Commission (1976), Save the South Grove Big Trees (1950-1969), the Stockton Metropolitan Recreation & Parks Commission and similar civic bodies.
